This week’s service begins the church season of ADVENT.
Stretching across the four weeks before Christmas,
Advent affords us TIME to share in the ageless longing
for the coming of the Messiah and to anticipate His Second Coming.
It is a re-imagining… a re-living of the great expectation
leading up to the birth of Jesus, The Christ, but it is more.
The word Advent is from the Latin, adventus which means “coming”.
Adventus is from the Greek, parousia which means The Second Coming of Christ.
So, as we begin this Season of Advent we are also watching for
His Return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Very exciting times we live in!
